Required textbooks are often expensive and difficult for students to purchase in a timely manner. Federal law requires colleges and universities to provide students with textbook information, such as title, publisher, and ISBN. Faculty should submit their textbook orders to the bookstore and have course materials listed in CAESAR at least one week in advance of the opening of quarter registration.
Why is this important for students? Late book orders affect the amount of copies available for sale at the start of classes and limit the ability for bookstores to buy used copies back from students. Bookstores won’t buy used books unless they know they’ll be assigned again in the future.
Deadlines for textbooks listed in CAESAR and orders submitted to the Bookstore:
- Winter Quarter: October 25, 2019
- Spring Quarter: February 7, 2020
- Fall Quarter: May 15, 2020
